Nahied Usman is admitted to practice before the Virginia Bar and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Ms. Usman graduated from American University’s Washington College of Law in 1999. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from George Mason University in 1995. She has been working in the field of intellectual property law since 1999.

Ms. Usman has drafted and prosecuted patent applications in a broad spectrum of arts, including the chemical, biotechnological, and biochemical arts. Ms. Usman has significant experience responding to official actions, conducting interviews with examiners at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, counseling clients regarding patent prosecution and patent infringement, and prosecuting foreign and international patent applications. Ms. Usman also has experience prosecuting trademark applications and counseling clients on trademark matters, and has been involved in litigation representing clients before the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Ms. Usman enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and reading.
